And then there was this...
2018 has been a great year. I have had amazing events and have gone to a fair share of them. This picture was taken at the Annual Celebration. The guy in the middle is Leslie Odom, Jr. and the woman on his right is my sister Nicole.
I am so grateful to have had him at my event. His story is so inspiring. I listened to the podcast interview with Lewis Howes, which provided great insight. He was our speaker and entertainer for the night. He performed one of my favorite songs, Winter Song by Ingrid Michaelson and Sara Bareilles.
He spoke about making an impact. He talked about his grade school teacher and an incident that happened at school. He encouraged the audience that they each can make a difference. It brought to mind for me how every day I wake up with a goal to be a blessing to someone and see how I can make help others. In order to do that, I have learned that you have to work on yourself and be selfish. You can't give what you don't have.
I appreciated how my sisters showed up. My mom, aunt and nana missed this year. It meant so much to me to have this moment with them. It was great to get shout outs from the stage. It means more to me to have people show up for me in the room. It was a great way to end the events season.
